The much awaited 3G services is now officially launched in India after much of postponement and unwanted delays caused due to god knows waht many factors. Finally MTNL, the state owned telecom operator kick-started the 3G services here in Delhi and Mumbai yet to deploy; In fact they have even made this new services sound little facinating..yet true to indian Identity....They call it MTNL 3G Jadoo !!..Sounds fun..isn't it ? Lets wait for few more months to see these 3G services actually getting the whole Indian subcontinent into a converging world and hoping that the other private providers to follow the footpaths of MTNL and unleash the services next generation services from 3G pandora box.

4 yrs of Highs & Lows

Its always been a mixed feeling when we actullay think where we were in the past and how far we have come across leaving the memories behind; some friends left and madefew great pals; lost a few hairs but got an experience in return; worked really hard day/night and got definite appreciations; Well as these were few of my heartfelt insights of these 4 years of my professional life i spent here in L&T. Not the experience i had here in this firm is any different but whatever is it; its's definately special for me atleast; Been there and seen there is what i can all say :-) Cheers Friends who have being there throughtout these good and hard times and thanks to the superiors who has always been there for providing us the oppertunities. Last but not the least my family who has always been there back to back :-)

The Simple Life !

Its always been said that a man needs can never be fullfilled; he always want something more and never been a self-sufficient.This evening NGC was showing a documentry on the life of the gypsies living in the vast Himalayan terrain and the way these people lead their own life. This documentry showed the simple life of a human living in the nature and they were least bothered about the materialistic world. The life they lived is quite simple and doing what their ancestors were being done.In fact with no basic education, they people simply can't dream of a high profile job and seriuosly they don't; these people are quite happy with teh life they still live with. Now if i compare myself with teh same guy from the film; i wasn't definately so happy and self contained as that guy was. Well this feeling was something more likely felt by me when coming across such people but i guess its a pretty common with me these days...dont know whether their is something wrong with me or it...

Kissed by a devil !

Well its always been a hectic day for most of us the day we landed in Torino..The First 2 weekends went smoothly..the next all weekends were wasted in Office perimeter doing the weekend support. But few of us decided to take a break from this all and we took off one saturday to the Pub near by Art Olympic Hotel where 2 of my friends were staying... We decided to go for a Devil Kiss..the scottish delight..and after drinking 2 glassful we 3 of us were floating right into the air...i will definately gurantee that drinking devil kiss will get you hard on your conscience..and it hit me hard as well...jjust googled devil kiss and i see lots of ultimate experience of the people after having it..I will suggest you to take a SIP out of it.This is the one one should have drank before he dies..i already did it how about u ???

After spending few weeks of temporary labs, roaming in few temporay locations finally we have been allocated a final place up here on the Telematics Lab on the 4th Floor. With only 5 People in this huge lab, its kind of complete privacy....right complete privacy :-) For the time i am up here in the office we really spent quality time @ office of course working here with my Team mates.

Tight Schedule :-(

Its been around more than week and we guys up here are really stuggling had to find time to relax..even on weekends we have to be in office :-( most of the time working 13 hours a day, and by the time we reach hotel we didnt have enough energy to have a healthy dinner to cook..so we mostly rely on the MTR ready mix (thanks to Ashish), Flakes with Milk or even get to some italian restaurant and grab a quick bite..even if u get to the hotel by 10 pm or earlier, then also we had to mail back the concerned people the daily status which is again a headache especially when u get down the hotel and find out that te Net is down..this actually happened with me one saturday night and i got to hear this fact about TIM italy that when the weather is bad they usually pose theis conncetivity problem !! But thanks to deva and his Hotel connectivity i could mail the daily status report to the people on time... Well dont think that these things will change in near future for the time i am here in italy...

I call it a day !

The morning unlike every morning things went smoothly and i reached my office as planned in the normal time. It's was a busy day as i was informed that i would be flying this evening to Turin for a business trip and with no arrangements made in prior it was bit hefty for me to take such a situation to come so quick...Well i had lots of work to do.Make my plans, reserve a hotel, get a PC and do all setup prior to leave and last but not the least the Air-tickets & bulk of Euros to survive for 1 month of my stay @ Torino. Things really went as planned with getting all the necessary documents & airtickets and was ready to leave by 9:00 PM on tuesday ! I had a Economy ticket to fly first to Frankfurt and then catch a connecting flight to Turin and it came as a surprise when i was offered a Business Class for the first time in my life...Business Class..man is it gonna happen :-)WOW....The next i spotted Abhisek Bachchan in the airport lobby who was flying to London Heathrow by J...

Aha..Nokia E71 Rocks....

Image
With iPhone so hyped in the mobile market industry and lot many network connection issues faced by the past iPhone users around the globe and moreover the public announcemet being long awaited in India which is assumed to be carried out Vodafone & Airtel made me really difficult to purchase the iPhone. I being one the impatient human ultimately decided to go for a Nokia ESeries rather than wait for an iPhone to come in the Market! I did had other options like the HTC brand but the deadly Metallic design & amazing features of E71 made be a Go-Go for Nokia... The world's thinnest QWERTY keyboard smartphone with Email client, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, A2DP, 3.2 MP with flash is practically defining the "featurephone" in the ever growing Mobile Market. The keys are amazingly soft, i doubt if these are rubberised or something and the typical metallic design on the back really makes it eye-catching. What has really stunned me is the Battery Life, this time Nokia has introduced a ne...

Holidaying @ Lonavala

It's been quite long since we guys have been out for a trip. With 15 August in the corner 4 of us decided to go out somewhere serene and pristine outing to get some relief from the monotonous IT working culture and moreover this heavy untimely rains in the Mumbai on the top of it was also even restricting us to go out on the water flooded roads in the Mumbai. Ultimately we planned to take our feet out and decided to take a One day trip to Lonavala. We booked a Indica a day before and did few clothes packing since we will be definately be drenched in the rain & countless natural waterfalls around the place. Started off 8:30 am in the morning and it took us less than an hour and half to reach the destination. The journey on the Express highway was smooth as piece of cake and the scenic beauty around the mountains, the countless waterfalls and the smoky weather was asking us to sit back and enjoy a view. The Bhushi dam, Tiger point and of course Love Point's were the main attr...

My Way of Doing it !!!

Image
Well this day started off just like any other day in my past 25 years of my life. Getting up in the morning, brushing off the teeth, cleaning of clothes, ultimately going out for McDonald's supper in the night eating the Junk foods for the sake of atleast doing something than getting yourself bored sitting right in the dark corner of the house in the raining Friday ! One thing that made all the difference is the I-Day celebrations @ my Apartments on the Ground Floor where the tenants celebrated the very day we call "स्वतंत्रता दिवस" in hoisting of the Indian Tricolor, singing the Jan-Gan-Man, saluting the nations heros for their sacrifice & paying tributes to the leaders of freedom struggle for which we all Indians could have a bright future and an Sovereign Nation. Wishing all my friends, relatives and all the Indians a very Happy Independence Day !

Happy Birthday Big Bro!

What is a QR Code ? ~ A QR Code is a matrix code (or two-dimensional bar code) created by Japanese corporation Denso-Wave in 1994. The "QR" is derived from "Quick Response", as the creator intended the code to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed. QR Codes are common in Japan where they are currently the most popular type of two dimensional code. Now Google provides you a simple API to create QR Code . Simple and Presto ! Here is mine... Have you created yours yet ???
Mumbai's busy Traffic ! It's been a little over than 2 weeks of me being up here in Mumbai, and things look quite the same(seems to be so) i left this place 2 years back. Sometime before i did mention that we are doing pretty good in the infrastructure sector like the renovations of Airport, Road conditionsin selected regions, Setting up of big manufacturing units etc; but then if one considers the Traffic conditions esp. near the Powai and nearby areas one can surely raise a question mark on the current standard of Traffic system in the Metropolitian city. These heavy traffic is encountered on any regular Office hours and few of my friends who work in Powai do face this situation more often. And i assume that Govt. would have definately be aware of this fact and would have taken few stringent steps to solve this traffic issues. But with the buying power of Indians multipling each year,as one of my friends says " We are the world's greatest consumers ", people kind...
Globalization ! Being either sitting idle or dozzing off most of the time at home for last few Weeks, we all friends decided to go out and get from Fresh air. So finally we landed up at CenterOne shopping Mall @ Vashi to check out the new arivals at the fashion outlets in the Mall. We were strolling around the Food Court where we spotted a few Foreigers dressed in Suits & Ties with their kids enjoying the MacDonald's delight cuisines transformed in an Indian style...Well definately the Globalization has came in and the time isn't far when people from developed countries will be outsourced to work in India...

Thomas L.Friedman said So...

"Imagine shaking a Champagne bottle for fifty years and then finally uncorking it.You get a pop when the cork comes off, that the kind of explosion of aspirations coming out of India, China & Former Soviet Union today. You don't want to get in the way of that cork"

Test of Patience

Well i got back on 7th July and have resumed the office in Vashi.Today its Tuesday the 8th, deprived of desktop PC or any connectivity as such. My curent location is inside the Glass chambers so called the HP Labs, sitting alone away from crowd like an extinst species is put inside a Glass Showcase kept in the Museum. Felt like i will be spending few more moments of lonliness up here inside the glass cage untill finally i was assured to be provided with a place in the Non-quarantine zone in between the IT professionals.

Mata Devi Darshan ! Alas ! Finally paid a visit to Mata. Me and my Dad started off in the late evening and reached the top by late midnight hours. Well its was little tough uphill but we managed to reach the top by covering the distance of 12 Kms by feet but while returning we could only travelled half a distance on the feet an d the other half distance on the back horse. All together it was full 10 Hours of hardship just to see a glimse of Mata which lasted for only few seconds ! Lovely scenic beauties (both of a kind) were observed throughout the planned journey up/down the hill; Hopefully Mata's aashribad will make rest of my journey a memorable one !
iMpressive India ! Still a lot more to improve.... I got back to india a few weeks back, and the picture back then and now is somewhat impressive for any indian coming back to the roots. Though i still have a week to visit the country's capital and hoping to have a similar experience. I actually made few back-n-forth trips to mumbai and this time as well i did take the domestic flight from mumbai to my hometown ; the city of temples "bhubaneswar" and it has definately made me realise i have missed those 2 years of constant infrastructure developement that india has underwent during my absence. Well from the limited places i have visited like the Domestic Airports here in Mumbai to Latest Shopping Arcades, it's definately right to say that we have done some progress in the infrastructure field which has been in the main disscussion for quite a long time..but i will still say that we have lot more to improve on this. Well that was the picture of the Urban india, apart...
Lost & Amazed ! It's been more than 2 years that i have set my foot in the L&T Infotech Vashi centre; surprisingly when actually i did it the pictures were completely different than i could have imagined of. The new landscapes were constructed, the look of the whole office was somewhat modified, as for me most of the things were completely new and different. But thanks to Rakesh, who accompained me and kept on explaining me about the concrete landscapes and the BU allocations around the blocks. The second blow came in when i entered the 4th floor, all new faces around me,i was kind of lost in between the crowd but finally could see few of the fimiliar faces whom i could know because i have worked earlier with them in japan.Once after meeting the Managers up here in my BU, i decided to meet my colleagues who were sitting @ 6th Floor with whom I have worked earlier. Really felt happy after meeting those people doing well and still going very smooth ahead in the life. During m...
Last Day in Office Well it was my very last @ office where i have been working for more than 2 years; still couldn't figured it out how the time passed by. It's been a fabulous experience working with people from different locations and in same time maintaining a balance between them all. I came empty handed but i am sure i going back with handful of experience and the unforgettable memories spent during my brief stay up here. I would like to thanks all of you for making my stay here an memorable one ! "Mina san, osewa ni narimasta". Wish you people the very best in the life and wish you have a wonderful life ahead. Free Calls to Anywhere : Bug in Skype ! Well one of my friend just created a new SKYPE id, by mistake he dialed his home number back in India and withing next few seconds he could talk to his family complete free of cost...once the call got over he along with my bro rushed to my place asking if skype does provides free calls to PSTN numbers...wish it could cozi always buy skype credits to call PSTN numbers :-( OOOOOO.....Well just wondering when did skype started providing free PSTN calls... Ohh...after a little analysis we could figure out that once a new Skype id is created (with new email id for verification) and the first call made to any PSTN number(made calls to india), user gets to talk free of cost......Still Wondering if its a Bug or not !!!

Together the Last time It's been a amazing yet facinating stay here in nihon with so much intellectual people around you and making your very day a special day all together. Its been a year later after landing in Japan that i decided for the taking a japanese class. With no idea how to start with it, i along with one of my friends decided to go for TAC and within the next week we decided to meet Takahashi-san, the gentleman behind the whole show. Its was then that we started our first japanese class and till the end it continued with few more others friends joined in as we moved on ahead. This whole thing started just as an hobby but as we gradually learned a little bit of japanese, we developed great thirst for the japanese culture to quench. In this whole process Takahashi-san & Yamamoto-san has really made a lot of difference. Well in other sense i can put it in this way that they were the Doors to the Japanese culture and traditions. We were not only learning japanese but ...

Last day of my Spalding ! So finally today i handed over my Spalding to one of my mates @ LnT ! Its been a nice company for me during my stay up here in Japan. Well i'm gonna miss the environmental friendly 6 gears bike :-)
People change managers not company ! With my 3.5 years of experience in IT field , i had seen severals new faces appearing from no where and some old known faces disappearing in the ever growing IT crowd. If you have observed that within the last few years the attrition rate is kind of growing and lots of people are moving in and out within different companies with new expectation and hope that they will get new opportunities, new work style, new things/technologies to learn that will help them grow on the professional level. We have heard a lot regarding this topic and have come through several pros and cons but ultimately I still haven't figured it out whether the attrition rates being high or low really matters for a company ? Little confused, i guess i should be even the big guns sometimes feel the same way if they face really dilemma tic situation. But I guess no matter what company you are working for the policies remain the same everywhere but the only thing that...

Miss my little sis :-( This morning when i was commuting in the Tozai Metro i saw 2 kids dressed up in the green school uniform with the hats, might be going to participate in some kind of sports meet which these Japanese schools usually organize during the Saturdays. The little girl with a heavy specs resting on her nose was constantly teasing her elder brother with her umbrella, the brother did resisted the constant teasing effort by his sis, but the little sis was really not in a mood to stop...she kept on repeating the teasing.. ha ha.. it was kind of moment which actually reminded me of those golden moments when me and my lil-sis used to fight/tease each other. But every time we have these fights it would hardly last few minutes and right after we would behave as if nothing ever happened...Really miss those past moments, sometimes i do really wish to go back to that phase of life with no worries and tensions totally unaware of the materialistic world and fill...
A shaky tremor in tokyo Just like any other ordinary night, i thought this one would be a similar one until i felt a strong threshold of the shake underneath me back to back ;WOW 2 heavy quake in just a quater of hours; though this is quite natural in a place like japan which experiences 20 percent of the world's major earthquakes every year but this was rather something i would have never imagined to have experienced in my lifetime during my stay and still breathing like a normal human being as i used to do beforehand :-) Well i will say its was a scintillating and exciting yet despairing moment for me to have felt the quake of 6.7 richter scale, still can't forget the moment when every damn thing from hanging light to my bed was shaking in the horrible pendulum motion around and around. Later i was joined by few friends who were norturnal humans just similar to me and we were just communicating each other about our encounter with the shaky feeling about the tremors and we dec...

Refreshing !!! Our body which is actually made up of billions of tiny cells and as we grow older they also tend to grow and during this long process some of these cells die and a new one regenerates but the brain cells are rarest of them all which has the longest life span and it actually remains almost indestructible till the end. So its advisable to keep your brain cells complete out of stress and presumable relaxed when the body is in rest ! So relax and listen to this amazing tune....

Virtual Scent Major telecommunications company NTT Communications Corp. has unveiled a way of devising user to buy the Perfumes online and that to actually user being able to feel the fragrance sitting right in the den. Currently this systems is under the testing, which is similar to earlier program launched in 2005 allowing users to download different programs to emit smells. How does this Work ? Scent play lists can be downloaded from "i-mode" mobile Web site run by the company's affiliate, NTT DoCoMo. The service uses a handset's infrared port to transfer the "fragrance data" to a dedicated device similar to a plug-in air freshener that is loaded with a cartridge of base fragrances. The device then mixes them to create the chosen smell, which it then wafts out. Hmmm..Amazing... isn't ?
Dam Dam Dee Dee eee... Just surfing around the web, suddenly a link popped up from somewhere and redirected me a mp3 site with this amazing song, which i used to hear when i was kid. Never ever heard it afterwards when i grew up old enough to hear some rock band... Well i admit that these pop-ups aren't bad always...they sometimes do take you the time you have fogotten !!!

Well this time as well i lost a couple of thousands yens, yes i purchased one desktop charger for my VAIO and an amazing Sony IR Stereo headphones. When i actually thought of buying the headphones it didn't really had any high expectations of how its gonna perform and moreover since it works on IR how possibly it can work at my place...i mean my small kholli thats what they say in Mumbai..hmmm..lots of doubts..and here comes my but..i decided to buy it anyway and i will say i don't regret it at all after listening to some of the mesmerizing musical tracks on these headphones.I can only say that's its one the amazing headphones i have actually had my hands on after the Bose. It gives the true essence of musical effect with the SRS on and if you have turned on the Vibrations you can really feel what it li...
Ride in Ideon It's was normal day and the watch in the main entrance gate @ watertowers showed 4:42 pm. I had a meeting @ Ideon Alpha-2 which was little far off where i was assigned to sit during my biz trip. The meeting was going to start at 5 and i had no clue how to get there. Upon asking the lady @ the reception, she handed me over a MAP and next thing she told is you can take a bike as no shuttle services are available to get you there in time...sorryyy..B.I.K.E.i dont even have a valid licence to drive anything in Sweden neither in Japan as well..but later i found out that she meant BIKE as Cycle(ohh..what a relieve) not bad start though ! So my journey started off from Watertowers to Ideon Alpha-2, time was running by but i was told that taking the cycle is the fatest way to reach my destination incase you dont have any other option:-)With this belief i just rolled down the road cutting the chilling cold. Hmmm.. taking cycle on the road was little odd with map folded in one ...
Nordic Trip My very first Nordic trip began this Feb 2 starting from Narita taking a Austrian Airlines all the way to Vienna or you may call in Wien in the country's own language. But this is not the final destination that i was suppossed to go but i had to take another flight up here from Vienna to Copenhagen. The next thing i had to do is to take a train over the oresund brigde all the way to Lund Central. At the end of the day when i thought over about the time that took me to reach up here in Lund from Tokyo, it was close to 24 hours! Weather up here is not that chilling as it used to be in Tokyo but its little foggy something spooky with few people around, huge old building something that reminds me of a classics movie shot in 1940s!Well the only thing that different is that cars and buses have replaced the horses and horse-carts. Only thing that seeme to be still there is bicycles! I still have a sometime to move around the place and check some lovely places out here during m...
Relax dont do it ! With so much of work pressure and stress in this competative market, we hardly get any time to sleep or relax a bit totally forgetting the hardships that you have done for the whole day.But ultimately we end up gettings ourselves more stressful and So when i searched on the net on how to make myself less prone to stress and be relaxed, here are a bucket of lists of DO'S & DON'T ! - Reduce caffeine : Ahhhh..i can't..actually we all can't.its an energy drink for all of us.. - Restrict nicotine : i can do that.RESTRICT myself and others from having it ! - Avoid napping : I can do that but what about my fellow japs who doze off every now and then...its a awesome view..i enjoy every moment of it when they nap..hahaha NOTE : The bed should be used for sleep and sex only. If not, you can end up associating the bed with distracting activities that could make it difficult for you to fall asleep.

India's Tata Motors have just unveiled its much anticipated car, an ultra-cheap price tag that brings car ownership into the reach of tens of millions of people. This pint sized car with a snub nose and a sloping roof and could fit 5 if they squeeze - called NANO which is 10 feets long and costs $2,500;that price which will make millions of indians to buy their very first car.Gets about 50 miles per gallon..well u have to sacrifice no ac , no radio !
