India surpasses Japan with largest number of Asian billionaires NEW DELHI: India became home to the most billionaires in Asia, pushing Japan back to the No. 2 spot, according to Forbes magazine's 2007 rankings of the world's richest people. Lakshmi N. Mittal, the London-based steel magnate who spearheaded the takeover of European steel maker Arcelor SA, was the richest Asian — and the world's fifth-wealthiest — with a net worth estimated at US$32 billion, the magazine said. India added 14 new billionaires since last year to bring its total on the list to 36 with a combined wealth of US$191 billion, Forbes said, contrasting sharply with the 400 million Indians who still live on less than a dollar a day. Japan's 24 billionaires had an estimated combined net worth US$64 billion, according to the list, while Hong Kong came in the third spot with 21 billionaires, and China was fourth with 20. ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 Only less than 48 hours left before the World Cup begins! India have announced their 15-member squad for the 2007 World Cup, and it's pretty much what most of us would've imagined so not many surprises there. Rahul Dravid (captain), Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar (vice captain), Saurav Ganguly, Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa, Mahendra Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik (both wicket-keepers), Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, Munaf Patel, Zaheer Khan, Santhakumar Sreesanth, Ajit Agarkar. I'm slighly wary by the gamble India are taking by keeping Sehwag but with two matches left against Sri Lanka before the World Cup he'll hopefully prove his worth (I hope). Yuvraj and Pathan are both still unfit, just hope they make a full recovery soon. Australia are pretty much the favourites to win, but i'd like to believe anything could happen so good luck India. Friday Nite Hangout ! After an loaded week of work,comes the weekend when people want to hang out, forget the world they were in the last week and relax...like the one i did it on this weekend ..went out to Turkish Restaurant ... Ankara situated in the heart of Shibuya, one of the Fashion centers of japan. The cuisines offered has quite similarity with the spicy Indian cuisines like kofta in India - kofte in Turkish..pulav in India - here they call Pilav...where there were many more to explain...but in the menu one dinner course that i really liked is the one which is says : 4000 Yens : Chef will do everything to satisfy your palate. Well altogether the dinner was fabulous....especially the Maze and the Kebabs were the delicacies i will never forget..Oh can i really forget the EFES...Turkish Beer ! Sapporo Snow Festival 2007 Well it was another great weekend here in japan.This time we decided to pay a 3 days visit to Sapporo , the capital of Northern territory of Japan..called Hokkaido .The main attraction during the winter season is the Sapporo Snow Festival which attracts million of people around the world to see hundreds of beautiful snow statues and ice sculptures. We took a early JAL flight from Haneda to New Chitose Airport and it took only 1 hr 10 mins to reach our destination. One of my friends told me that New Chitose Airport is Japan's most advanced airport and it always open whatever the weather may be..oh if start comparing this with INDIA then i will almost ruin my mood...The trip here would be different as we have to roam around and see things in a temperature well below Zero degrees... yes the temperature can go below minus as well...And on our way to Nakajima Koen, the place where our Hotel was situated; we came across a LED display board displaying the ...

Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Well its a dream for everyone to watch things live rather than being watching it on tv live.. With such a similar kind of dream which i also had, got fullfiled on 5th Feb here in tokyo watching Hingis playing just infont of me 2o feets away..in the WTA tour finale. It was a something different when i saw Hingis and Ivanovic, the Russian Babe entering the center court...the whole stadium was echoed with the clapping and cheers. I had a kinda of notion that Hingis will play against Sharapova but when saw Ivanovic play, i was kind of sure that this finale is gonna be a tough one. And the way the match went i never felt that hingis is up against a 19 years Russian. Though in the end Hingis won the match by 6-4,6-2, anna did gave hingis some tough challenges.
